Maringi is a mum to a pretty fit family of 2 boys and a girl and but she struggles to keep up with them at times! She often finds it hard to stay motivated but hopes to lead a healthier lifestyle and join in the family fun once again.
Maringi says she used to keep relatively active and healthy often training with her dad who was a great source of inspiration. Maringi’s dad passed away nearly three years ago and she has since lacked motivation. “He was the one who would encourage me to exercise and make healthy eating choices, and without him, I’ve felt a bit lost at times. I want to get back on the right path again by learning how to prepare healthy meals and commit to an exercise routine.”

Nutrition: Maringi has made huge progress with her nutrition, making wiser choices and focusing on portion sizes. She says: "I've learnt that I have control over my wellbeing and eating habits, and the effect that this has on my mood is incredible! I have found that I'm a lot more emotionally stable and don't find myself reaching for unhealthy snacks when I'm stressed or upset". She has also cut back coffee from 8 cups per day to one or less per day.
Health & Wellbeing: Maringi's sleep has dramatically improved, unable to sleep before, she now gets a solid 7 hours that leaves her refreshed and feeling good. She has made a real commitment to regular exercise and is able to stay much more focused at work. She's feeling confident and better in herself. Her changes have inspired those around her too, with her workplace becoming "fizzy free".
Be realistic about the goals you're setting. Keep it simple and start small. These will eventually turn into good habits.
