Description
Sealord’s New Zealand Greenshell™ Mussels are also known as green-lipped mussels and are unique to New Zealand’s coastal waters. Sealord’s Greenshell™ mussels are harvested throughout the year from the pristine waters of New Zealand’s remote bays and inlets. Sealord’s mussels are processed directly after harvest using modern plant and technology.
The half shell mussels are blanched, opened, quick frozen and then glazed. Mussels are grown, harvested, transported, processed and labelled in accordance with the USFDA National Shellfish Sanitation Programme (NSSP) and standards are equivalent to EU standards. They are harvested and processed under HACCP based risk management programmes. These systems are verified by the NZFSA and USFDA. The product conforms to the microbiological standards of Sealord Group Ltd and USFDA standards for biotoxin testing. The shells are an attractive green colour and the meat is either cream (male) or orange (female), both have the same delicate flavour.
Cooking Guide
Sealord’s Greenshell™ mussels are delicious steamed, then served au naturelle with a little lemon or garlic butter. Sealord mussels may also be baked, barbecued or microwaved whole in the shell. Best cooked from frozen. Do not refreeze.
