Greenshell™ Mussel Meat
Individually quick frozen meat of New Zealand Greenshell™ Mussels. Available in small, medium and large grades. Ideal in seafood medley dishes like soups, stews or marinara, either whole or chopped. Greenshell™ mussel meat can also be added to paella or coated then shallow or deep fried as a dish on its own.
Description
Greenshell™ Mussels are native to New Zealand and produced through our sustainable aquaculture needing no feed or therapeutic inputs. Our Mussels are farmed in areas that are monitored against world-leading standards for water quality and processed under HACCP based Risk Management programmes. Farming, harvesting and processing standards meet the US National Shellfish Sanitation Programme and are equivalent to the European Union requirements.
The mussels are blanched, quick frozen and then glazed. They are either cream (male) or orange (female) in colour, however both have the same delicate flavour.
Cooking Guide
When adding Sealord mussels to dishes they are best cooked from frozen. Because the product has been blanched take care not to overcook. Once thawed, use immediately. Do not refreeze.
