Classic Fish Burger with Easy Tartare

    Sealord Potato Crumb Hoki fillets (or your favourite frozen fillets)

    Burger Buns

  • 1

    lemon, quartered

  • Tartare Sauce
  • 1/2 cup

    quality mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon

    white wine vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons

    capers, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon

    finely chopped small gherkins

  • 1 tablespoon

    finely grated lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon

    Dijon mustard

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • Salad
  • 1 handful

    shredded lettuce

  • 1/2

    red onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon

    finely chopped parsley

  • 1

    tomato sliced


  1. Heat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Place the Hoki fillets on a baking tray and cook for 9 minutes each side.
  3. In a small bowl mix together the mayonnaise, capers, gherkins, lemon zest and mustard. Season to taste as needed with salt and pepper.
  4. In a separate bowl toss together the lettuce and onion.
  5. Toast the buns on both sides.
  6. Divide the lettuce mixture between the bun bases with a slice or two of tomato.
  7. Top with a Hoki fillet and a dollop of tartare sauce.
  8. Cover with the bun lid and serve with lemon wedges.
